I know its a different "universe" but it is still situated in a parallel Earth

Doesn't that describe about 95% of medieval fantasy?

How does it rate compared to The legend of the seeker, (book based on the sword of truth series by Terry Goodkind) which was absolutely woeful?

What you talking about? Legend of the Seeker was a great series, sure it isn't Game of Thrones quality but it definitely has rerun capability. Besides, Kayla is a babe :3

Mate, it was fucking pathetic, deviated from the great story set by the author so much, and was just... painful to watch.

You mean it's worth getting if you want to waste money and line the pockets of a few executives.

In reality people are just better off reading the books.

The people that haven't read the books and watch the show are retarded. Even heard this as a justification as to not reading them

"I've bought the books, but don't want to read them because it will ruin the show."

Haven't watched the show in a while, is it still up to the same standard that has been set in season 1?

At the moment I would say no...

I haven't read the books..... for exactly the reason above...
