So thats a $155 entry fee for every team (total costs) that makes it to the LAN, seems a bit overpriced not inclusive of some teams needing to pay travel costs as well.

---- update, lan costs drastically reduced/removed see above post ---

Hi BL00DLocK, thanks for the feedback.

Simply the costs are there to support the cash prizepool.

For $31 total fees per player, I believe everyone who registers should feel they have a chance of winning at least the Amateur Tournament and so make it more than worthwhile (besides just experiencing the competition and meeting players on the day).

Besides that, for those that did not place , you have a fair chance of getting a random prize as well.

There is a possibility we could reduce the on the day LAN costs to $15 a player but that would reduce the cash prizepool to

Pro

1st $400
2nd $200

Amateur

1st $100

+ the Corsair hardware prizes. (worth $2500 total -inc the random prizes)

Which would you prefer? (and others here)

Cheers,
Jon

After doing some mathemetising the costs are not too bad when split. So all is G!
Any ETA on the exact dates for the LAN? Just curious.

No worries,

Currently we expect to hold the LAN on a Saturday or Sunday mid to late Oct.

We feel it might be best to decide the exact date sometime during or after the online qualifiers. (late Sept/early Oct). This is because of the uncertainty over how quickly the qualifiers can be completed.

However, it is possible we may decide on the exact date much earlier.

Cheers,
Jon
