2017 Wrapup
Before I move on to what lies ahead for 2018, I want to take a moment to thank the players, supporters, teams, other tournament organisers and staff for their efforts this year. Above all I want to extend a personal thanks to the volunteers of CyberGamer who once again have done their part to shape Australian Esports.
A special thank you goes out to the companies who have shared our passion for esports in 2017 and continue to support the scene at every level.

Lastly I would like to thank the admins who have helped mould the scene and work so very hard every week.

Moving Forward
2018 has been on our minds since mid year and we have spent a lot of time talking to range of players from different titles to see where we can support not just the grassroots, but all the way up.
The first point of call for us is the CyberGamer Premier League (CGPL). CGPL continues to grow and in 2018 we still the return of CSGO, along with the return of Rocket League (last appeared Autumn 2016) and the introduction of a Street Fighter 5. We have big plans for PUBG this year, our 2018 plans can be found HERE, we hope to see this scene grow and flourish as well as bring in LAN finals support. Rainbow 6 has continued support with League of Legends and we are bringing back support for StarCraft2.
We are always on the lookout for new titles we can help support. If there is a title you would like to see, please put in a support ticket.

Along with supporting a few extra titles in 2018, the website is currently being redesigned from the ground up. User feedback is never ignored and we will be deploying in the upcoming months the leanest version of CG to date.

CyberGamer Premier League

CounterStrike Global Offensive ($85,000)
CSGO in 2018 will see some changes coming. The first change is matches for CGp will now be played Monday and Tuesday nights which will free teams up from weekend commitments and other offline events. Beginning in 2018 we will be changing how CGi is played out with the introduction of more scheduled matches to Wednesday and Thursday nights and these games will also be streamed each week. More details on CGi to come in the next few weeks.

Rocket League ($36,000)
Shortly after CGPL Autumn 2016 Rocket League left CyberGamer, how ever we feel now is the right time to bring it back. Being lead by the experience of Judge and Tibore (and some others) we expect an exciting year of non stop high octane action. With the title coming back to CGPL we should see a full year of consistent Rocket League in the region for teams to fight for a share in the $36,000 prize pool for 2018. Rocket League will be played each Wednesday and Thursday night.

We have supported R6 since the start, and its a great title. I dont think the title is missing out, but I think in 2018 there are other ways we can help with the game which dont directly bring it to LAN. I know the spectator is hard, so a possibility might be have MonkeyFist and another person have access to the studio to cast more games from. This is something I have spoken to Sam about in the last few months, its something Id like to keep conversing on.

Support for Dota 2 please. So many players out there. Many players wont enter comps because of the gap in skill lvl from high mmr players to low mmr players. If there was separate leagues to cater for this, then it could work.

Dota 2 is huge. It's really sad that Australia/NZ Dota isn't huge on Cybergamer. You need to get the right ppl behind it to get interest.
